“SRI KANCHI KAMAKOTI PEETA ASTHANA VIDWAN” COIMBATORE V. MOHANRAM is one among the seniormost and leading Ghatam vidwans of our country . He was initiated into  playing the Ghatam from Coimbatore Shri Rajappaiyar , Shri Rangappaiyar & Pazhani , Ghatam Shri Krishnaiyar school of “Percussion Instruments”. He mastered the advanced techniques under the guidance of Mridangam and Kanjira vidwan Coimbatore Shri R. Ganapathy , son of his earlier guru .

Coimbatore Shri MohanRam started his carrer at the age of 14 , with rigorous practice and dedication to art, he reached his peak in accompanying great maestros of the past.

He had trained many students who are skilled percussionists. He has many Audio and CD Albums to his credit.

Retired staff artiste of All India Radio Coimbatore Shri V. MohanRam  has been associated with AIR Trichy Since 1983 . He is an “A TOP” Grade Artiste in Ghatam and B-High Grade in Mridangam also .
